位於桃園大漢溪畔的大溪，自20世紀初發展木藝產業，迄今已超過百年的歷史。桃園市立大溪木藝生態博物館為推動大溪木藝傳承與推廣，特舉辦「大溪國際木家具工藝設計競賽」，期望藉由本競賽的辦理，鼓勵國內外新銳工藝與設計能量的融合與創新，透過運用傳統木工技藝與當代設計創意和多元媒材，展現木製家具的繽紛樣貌及溫潤的文化底蘊，並逐步帶動木藝產業的多元發展及創新動能。
本次徵件主題「收納」，著眼於現代生活型態的改變，反應在家具的設計需求上，越來越關注如何有效應用空間巧思、收藏及收納概念的運用。收納的功能不僅限於物品存放的基本需求，還包括家具自身的伸縮、展延、維度、使用者需求概念延伸的變化等，在生活上更具「收藏及收納」的意義與實用性，同時也兼具玩賞品味的雅趣，在有限空間中營造出大大樂趣與巧思，賦予生活美好的品味。第二屆大溪國際木家具工藝設計競賽，希望推動木藝創生及鼓勵家具創作、結合木藝技術工法的運用與當代的設計創新思潮，賦予生活更多的想像。
競賽得獎作品將於大溪武德殿展出，搭配本屆競賽主題，另規劃「臺灣收納家具史話」特展於大溪公會堂展出。收納家具不僅是日常必需品，從中也可看到社會和產業發展變遷，本特展以「早期民居的收藏智慧」、「外銷國際的精緻木藝」和「當代創意收納設計」三大主題，並邀請不同時期代表性家具品牌展出，看到百年來臺灣收納家具的變化。
Competition Results Exhibition
Daxi, situated on the banks of the Dahan river in Taoyuan City, has been a renowned center for Taiwan’s woodcraft industry since the early 20th century. To preserve its craftsmanship heritage and foster new creativity, the Daxi Wood Art Ecomuseum, Taoyuan, is hosting the Daxi International Wood Furniture Craft and Design Competition II, inviting participants from all backgrounds to explore the possibilities of modern woodcraft.
The theme of this competition, “Storage and Organization,” reflects how changes in modern lifestyles have reshaped the way we think about furniture design—placing greater emphasis on creative space utilization, display aesthetics, and the art of organization.
Storage performance extends beyond the basics of items storage. It also involves the collapsibility, foldability, design dimensions and the varied needs of users, lending any limited living space more storage and space management efficiency, while giving it a colorful splash and tasteful décor.
The Daxi International Wood Furniture Craft and Design Competition II aims to revive woodworking as an art form, encourage innovative furniture creation, and integrate traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design to enrich modern living spaces.
