Exploring the Old Town with Glamorous Past

Completed on March 28, 2015, the DAXI WOOD ART ECOMUSEUM was born based on the preservation of cultural assets combined with the local community.

Various historic features have been developed throughout the decades since the Qing Dynasty, Back then, Daxi was served as a transportation hub of Dahan River, via which tea, camphor, wood and other essen tials were distributed. Afterwards, the now renowned carpentry in Daxi was passed down by the masters who came to build mansions for Lin Ben Yuan, one of many distinguished families that moved to Daxi.

Today, the wood industry, historic monuments, buildings, and folk customs are all unique features of Daxi. It is the mission of the museum to continue preserving. recording, and promoting the culture of Daxi's wood industry and people's living, making Daxi a museum without walls.
