2015 年，原「大溪國小日式宿舍」成為大溪木藝生態博物館第一棟修繕完成開放的空間，因此稱為「壹號館」。
壹號館是 1920 年代興建的日式高架平房建築，曾作為大溪國小 ( 大溪公學校 ) 校長宿舍。最後一任住戶是大溪初級中學英文老師陳茂林，其夫人陳王翠梧女士曾在屋裡教授裁縫，宿舍門口高掛「溪光縫紉補習班」的場景是許多大溪婦女的共同回憶。
House No. 1 is a Japanese-style, loft-ceilinged bungalow built in the 1920’s. It served as the official residence of Dashi Elementary School headmaster (Daxi Public School). The last resident of House No. 1 was Chen Mao-lin, an English language instructor of Daxi Middle School. Chen’s wife, Chen Wang Tsui-wu, used to teach sewing in this house. Many ladies of Daxi would recall fondly of the placard, “Xiguang Sewing Studio,” that hung on the entrance of the bungalow residence.
