人力輕便鐵道
1903年桃崁輕便鐵道會社成立，人力輕便鐵道連結桃園火車站及大溪粟子園，大溪交通自此連接南北縱貫鐵道，開啟由水運轉向陸運的新頁。
大溪農會倉庫建築修復過程，於廣場發掘一段人力輕便車的工字型軌道構件，符合輕便車軌道的形式，是昔日大溪輕便鐵道曾經存在的痕跡。據居民口述，戰後此段軌條被運用為此處鐵門軌道。
Push Car Railway
The Tao-Kan Light Railway Corp. was established in 1903. It built a push-car railway connecting the Taoyuan Railway Station with Suziyuan in Daxi. This linked Daxi with the main north-south railway, and initiated the switch from water to land transport.
During the restoration of the Daxi Farmers’ Association Warehouse, digging in the plaza uncovered a section of H-shaped light rail track—a remnant of the old light rail line. Oral reports by local residents indicate that this section of rail was used after the war as a track for a steel gate.
