孔雀椅（The Peacock Chair）是漢斯·韋格納（Hans Wegner）早期的代表作之一，設計於1947年，當時他年僅33歲。這款設計靈感源自17世紀的英國溫莎椅（Windsor chair），韋格納在許多細節上展示了他卓越的設計與木工技術。扶手的支柱連接到椅面下的橫桿，增強了椅背的結構穩定性；梳狀的椅背在與背部接觸的部分變寬，提升了乘坐的舒適感；椅腿與椅面之間的連接處添加了楔片，進一步強化了接合的穩定性。椅下的連桿在接榫處以圓球形設計，既增加了結構強度，又保持了輕盈的外觀。
這款椅子在1947年哥本哈根匠師公會展覽中首次亮相時，設計師芬．尤（Finn Juhl）第一眼就以＂孔雀＂來形容這張椅子，這個名稱因此沿用至今。
孔雀椅自1947年起由丹麥重要家具廠約翰內斯漢森（Johannes Hansen）生產製造，1990年代初約翰內斯漢森結束營業，之後由PP家具（PP Møbler）繼續生產至今。
The **Peacock Chair** is one of **Hans Wegner’s** early signature designs, created in 1947 when he was only 33 years old. Inspired by the 17th-century **English Windsor chair**, Wegner showcased his exceptional design and woodworking skills through the meticulous details of this chair. The spindles that form the backrest are wider at the point of contact with the user's back, enhancing comfort. The arms are connected to horizontal bars under the seat, improving structural stability. Additionally, the joints between the legs and seat are reinforced with wedges, increasing the chair’s overall sturdiness. The stretcher under the seat features rounded, ball-like joints, which not only strengthen the structure but also maintain a sense of lightness in the design.
The chair made its debut at the **1947 Copenhagen Cabinetmakers' Guild Exhibition**, where designer **Finn Juhl** first described it as resembling a peacock, giving the chair its iconic name.
Since 1947, the Peacock Chair was originally produced by **Johannes Hansen** until the company ceased operations in the early 1990s. Production was then taken over by **PP Møbler**, which continues to manufacture this timeless piece to this day.
