重力平衡椅（Gravity Balans Chair）於1983年推出，延續了他在1979年設計的變數（Variable）跪姿椅的概念。這款椅子具有多段式椅腳，讓使用者能在一張椅子上實現跪姿、坐姿或躺臥，滿足餐椅、閱讀椅、休閒椅與躺椅的多重需求。它的外型設計跳脫傳統家具框架，造型大膽且富有現代感，儘管初見時可能讓人不敢嘗試，但實際坐下後，其人體工學的優勢和舒適感便顯而易見。

Peter Opsvik, born in 1939, is a renowned Norwegian furniture designer known for his innovative approach to ergonomic design. Opsvik’s philosophy challenges the traditional notion of fixed seating positions, advocating that “the best sitting position is always the next one.” His work is deeply rooted in analyzing the dynamic needs of the human body, aiming to provide flexibility and support for a variety of postures.
Opsvik’s Gravity Balans, introduced in 1983, continued the ergonomic concepts he first explored with his 1979 design, the Variable™ Balans kneeling chair. The Gravity Balans features multi-position functionality, allowing users to sit, recline, or even assume a kneeling position, fulfilling multiple needs as a dining, reading, lounging, or reclining chair. Its bold, modern design breaks from traditional furniture forms, and although its appearance may seem unconventional, its ergonomic benefits and comfort become evident upon use.
