21號搖椅（No.21 Rocking chair）延續了索耐特開創的彎曲木工藝，利用蒸汽技術將木材加熱後彎曲成流暢的曲線，體現了木材的美感，椅面及椅背結合了手工編織的藤面，使其不僅輕便、具有優雅的外觀，且結實耐用。這款椅子是工業化生產與手工藝結合的成功範例，代表了19世紀末期家具製造的革新。

The Thonet rocking chair emerged in the 19th century. Michael Thonet, the company’s founder, designed the first rocking chair during his lifetime, and after his death, the Thonet company continued producing numerous similar models that became classics of the rocking chair genre.
The No.21 Rocking Chair carries on the bentwood tradition established by Thonet, using steam-bending techniques to shape wood into smooth, flowing curves that highlight the material’s inherent beauty. Its seat and back incorporate hand-woven cane, making the chair not only lightweight and elegant, but also exceptionally durable. This piece stands as a successful example of merging industrial production methods with handcrafted artistry, reflecting the design revolution that took place at the end of the 19th century.
Thonet’s innovative techniques left a profound impact on many designers who followed, notably Marcel Breuer, a leading figure of modernism. Inspired by Thonet’s work, they continued to apply these bending techniques to the creation of modern furniture designs.
