國民政府遷臺後，武德殿轉為憲兵隊使用，附屬建築於此時也轉做憲兵居住。
最後一位原住戶賴女士來自苗栗通霄，因為警察介紹而嫁給年紀大很多的吳先生，之後在這裡居住了近60年。賴女士告訴我們，過世多年的吳先生是跟隨國民政府來臺的浙江人，擔任警衛部隊隊長、負責保衛蔣中正總統的安全，退休後才到大溪管理慈湖。
The Martial Arts Dojo was turned over to the military police force for use after the nationalist government relocated to Taiwan. The outbuilding was now converted into the living quarters for the military police officers.
The last inhabitant, Ms. Lai, hailed from Tongxiao of Miaoli. She was matchmade by a police officer and ended up marrying a Mr. Wu, a gentleman much older than she was. The couple lived here for nearly six decades. Ms. Liao recalled that her late husband, who passed away years ago, was a Zhejiang province native; he was transplanted to Taiwan along with the nationalist government, and served as the chief of the guardsmen, in charge of ensuring president Chiang’s personal safety. Mr. Wu did not begin his superintendent duties of Cihu until his retirement.

賴女士回憶過去的生活十分困苦，為了養育三名子女，起先在屋旁養豬，後來也到角板山批香菇到鶯歌販售、或是在街上木藝店門口賣滷味等。看著一旁親手種下的玉蘭花樹，賴女士對這裡有著說不完的懷念。
Ms. Lai recalls the hardscrabble life she endured back in those days. To raise her three children, she raised pigs at first in the sty by the house. She also bought wholesale mushrooms in Mt. Jiaoban and sold them in Yingge. She even peddled braised foods at the entrance of the woodcraft shop. As she gazes at the white Michelia tree she grew, she becomes wistful with reminiscence.
