The year is 2004. The Assembly Hall, being the only architectural holdover from the Japanese era in the Taoyuan City, is touted as a rare structure incorporated impressively, and seamlessly, with the Park and neighboring buildings. As such, the Assembly Hall is accorded a place in the city’s historic monument registry. Taoyuan County Government gave the Assembly Hall a facelift in 2005 and converted it into “Daxi Artist Villa” as an arts and culture performance venue.
